Become an Advocate Against Sex Trafficking

The trafficking of human beings. Modern day slavery. Women are not commodities. Women are God's greatest, and most precious creation. We can no longer turn a blind eye, in the hopes the buying and selling of women and children will dissipate.  We can unite, and join the fight today. We can campaign for stronger domestic legislation that will in turn strengthen laws on the state level. This will certainly further reinforce international laws.

Find here a a beginner's list of local (Missouri & Illinois), along with National and Global Organizations who fight for freedom. This of course is not an extensive list, as there are many organizations both domestic, and internationally. Research your state to learn of where you may serve.

National Organizations

The Polaris Project: Polaris, named after the North Star that guided slaves to freedom in the U.S., disrupts the conditions that allow human trafficking to thrive in our society. From working with government leaders to protect victims’ rights, to building partnerships with the world’s leading technology corporations, we spark long-term change that focuses communities on identifying, reporting and eliminating trafficking networks.

National Human Trafficking Resource Center: The National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) is a national anti-trafficking hotline and resource center serving victims and survivors of human trafficking and the anti-trafficking community in the United States. The toll-free hotline is available to answer calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year in more than 200 languages.

Shared Hope International: Shared Hope International strives to prevent the conditions that foster sex trafficking, restore victims of sex slavery, and bring justice to vulnerable women and children. We envision a world passionately opposed to sex trafficking and a committed community restoring survivors to lives of purpose, value and choice – one life at a time.

Missouri Organizations

Our work quickly evolved to serve people in crisis living in 11 different countries.  Together with our partners, we have provided 8.8 million pounds of food to 1.4 million adults and malnourished children, rescued more than 330 girls from sex trafficking, and much more.

St. Louis Rescue & Restore Coalition: The St. Louis Rescue & Restore Coalition are advocates against human trafficking. The Coalition is a network of non-profits, government agencies, law enforcement, and volunteers dedicated to raising awareness within the community.

YWCA Metro St. Louis: YWCA St. Louis Regional Sexual Assault Center assists more than 1,000 victims annually. Its sexual assault response team works collaboratively with St. Louis City and County police officers, area hospitals, the prosecuting attorney’s office and as well as with other victim service agencies. Crisis services are provided at no cost to victims.
